讲座内容：

Modern computational techniques are invaluable components of every engineer’s toolkit and every scientist’s laboratory. The main challenge for geocomputing is to consider the multiscale heterogeneity and the related multiphysical phenomena in natural and/or enhanced geo-materials. Heterogeneous geomaterials typically possess a multitude of physically significant scales and each of these scales requires appropriate modeling. Heterogeneous structures on the microscale (i.e. mineral grains, pore space and micro-cracks) are often close in size to a characteristic length for the macroscopic pattern for such as subsurface flow and transport. Hence these structures strongly influence macroscale processes. A novel FEM and LBM based computational model and supercomputer software tool PANDAS have been developing towards simulating the highly non-linear coupled geomechanical-fluid flow-heat transfer-geochemical reaction systems involving heterogeneously fractured geomaterials at different spatial and temporal scales. This presentation will firstly introduces our research in multiscale multiphysical geocomputing and then focuses the practical applications in mining engineering issues across the different scales spanning from the pore to the lab and field scales.

主讲人介绍：

邢会林博士，主要从事计算地球科学及其工程应用研究，是澳大利亚昆士兰大学计算地球科学中心主任研究员，兼任亚太地区地震仿真国际合作组织澳方负责人,中南大学及北京交大兼职教授。中国自然科学基金海外杰出青年基金获得者。长期从事大规模非线性计算理论（有限元及LBM），程序开发及相关的应用工作。曾作为主要人员参与日本国家重大项目“核电站基础研究”项目及日本国家科技优先发展重大项目“地球模拟器”并负责相关软件的开发工作。现在澳大利亚负责地壳动力学计算模拟及相关软件的开发工作，所研发的软件PANDAS已应用于地球动力学(如断层系统动力学、地震及海啸)，地下工程多尺度描述和多场耦合分析（如固体地球相关的能源开发及利用：干热岩发电的地下库区评估，非常规油气开发，深部开采，CO2埋藏，金属成矿等），同时也已成为进行相关科研合作的平台。

迄今，已经出版2本科学专著，在相关领域国际科学杂志发表论文100余篇。先后参与负责近20项国家、国际及工业界科研项目，指导博士生15人，博士后4人，访问学者10人。研究成果及相关评论多次被ABC News, 9 News, SBS News, Sky News, The Australian, Couriermail等澳洲及国际媒体报道。
